The Waste Stream is a series of pinhole photographs created at industrial and industrial waste sites that have been repurposed for residential and recreational uses. My lenses are constructed on site with pieces of consumer waste I find at each location. This pinhole photography process results in diffraction and blurring of the scene which creates a visual layer for the viewer to consider, and draws attention to the treatment of the land as an expendable commodity. In each of these places, the impacts and effects of the former industry are not always apparent on the surface, yet remain pervasive.
An explanation of each site can be found in the Site Descriptions.
